What you're actually buying
SEO has a trust problem, and it earned it. Most small-business owners I meet have already paid someone for "SEO" — usually a monthly retainer, a PDF nobody could read, and rankings that never moved. So before anything else, here's exactly what the work is when you hire Mkista:
1. A technical foundation that isn't fighting you
Indexing problems, broken redirects, slow pages, structure Google can't parse. This is unglamorous plumbing — and it's where I find the biggest quick wins on most audits. One client's rankings were sliding for months purely because 63 of their own articles were competing with each other; consolidating them to 22 with proper redirects turned the slide around. No new content, no links — just structure.
2. Content that meets Google's quality bar
Google's guidance has been explicit for years: it rewards content with first-hand experience, real expertise and honest intent — and it actively demotes mass-produced filler. Every page and article we write is people-first: specific, opinionated where the author has earned an opinion, and answering the questions your customers actually type. Nothing outsourced to a content mill, nothing that reads like it was generated by the tonne.
3. Local visibility, done properly
For service businesses, the map pack is half the battle. Consistent name-address-phone details across Australian directories, a fully built Google Business Profile, and citations on the platforms that matter locally — built steadily, the way Google expects to see them appear.
4. Reporting you can read in two minutes
Every report is built on your own Google Search Console data — clicks, impressions, positions, real queries. Numbers with sentences attached, in plain English. When something isn't working, you hear that from me first, along with what we're changing. That's the deal.
The receipts
Two recent examples, anonymised until you're on a call (client names shared there):
- Homeware retailer (Shopify): +40% Google clicks and +59% click-through rate in 28 days — technical cleanup plus people-first content, measured straight from Search Console.
- Migration agency: 63 competing posts consolidated to 22 — reversed a months-long ranking slide caused by keyword cannibalisation.
More on the results section of the homepage, and the thinking behind the no-ads position is right below it.
Why no ads — ever
It's slower for the first month and better for every month after. If your situation genuinely calls for paid ads — a launch, an offer with a hard deadline — I'll say so and point you to someone who does ads well. I stay in my lane; it's why the SEO advice you get from me isn't bent toward selling you a bigger bundle.
Who this works for
Australian owner-operators who live off local and organic demand: trades and services, professional services like brokers and migration agents, clinics and wellness businesses, and e-commerce stores. If you check those boxes and you're tired of renting your traffic, we'll get along.
Straight answers
How long until SEO shows results?
Meaningful movement typically takes weeks to months depending on your starting point and your competition. You'll see the trajectory in Search Console from the first report. Google explicitly warns against anyone guaranteeing rankings — so I don't, and you should run from anyone who does.
What does it cost?
Every scope is written and priced individually after the free strategy call — no hidden retainers, no surprise line items, and no lock-in contracts you don't understand. You'll know the full number before anything starts.
Do you work with businesses outside Australia?
My focus is Australian small business — the directories, search behaviour and competition I know deepest. Some long-standing clients are international; ask and I'll tell you honestly if your market is one I can serve well.
What do you need from me to start?
Access to your Google Search Console (or we set it up together — it's free), your website login, and twenty minutes of honesty about what's working and what isn't. That's the whole onboarding.
